End of Year Catch-up/Review

D&T
Dates #46 - 50
Things have been pretty crazy at our house - but I can't just bail and not finish out our 2011 date goals!!  Its been awhile, but here were our last dates of the year . . .

#46
D's parents wanted to have all the grown-ups together for a night, so they took all the kids and spouses out to Tucanos in Salt Lake.  With all the grand kids left at home . . . it was quite a treat for us adults to spend some uninterrupted time together.  It was a memorable dinner for D&I (and everyone else hopefully) because D&I got to announce our big news to the family!  D passed around his phone with a random picture of an ultrasound on it . . . it took a second, but everyone figured out our news . . . Baby #3!!  Also memorable to me . . . this was really my last normal evening for quite some time . . the next morning I woke up with full blown "Morning-but-really-ALL-DAY-sickness".

#47
J&D threw their annual Christmas Party and its one of our favorite events of the holiday season!  We love feeling the Christmas Spirit with all our friends and having some GREAT laughs during the white elephant gift exchange!

#48
D's work always throws an amazing Christmas Party.  Nice Dress, awesome food & entertainment - its something we look forward to every year!  This year was no different.  Held at Thanksgiving Point with a Movie Star theme . . . the Vegas entertainer (juggler/funny man) was hilarious!!!  Its always romantic to get dressed up for Dane to spend the evening with him!

#49
Taking from J&D - I am going to count our Christmas Eve as a date too.  It was super out of the ordinary cause we also stayed up super late (thanks to a good round of puking that made me feel much better) wrapping presents and getting the house ready for Christmas morning.  I love wrapping presents by the light of the Christmas tree and I was afraid I would have to lay on the couch and watch D do all the work.  I feel super blessed to feel well enough to be involved as we wrapped presents for our kids and families and listened to Christmas music.  Even Christmas morning was special as our kids slept in SUPER late, but D&I couldn't stay in bed so we got up and made muffins and put on the music again and had a little more time together before the kiddos woke up and we were able to see their little faces as they walked into the room.  I love Christmas!!

#50
As is tradition in D's family - we always see a Christmas movie . . . although this one was more a New Years movie cause I think we went on New Years Eve afternoon.  D's family LOVES movies so we try to go see some of the big ones (well at least one) together every year.  This years movie was SHERLOCK HOLMES.  We loved it!  It was fun to cuddle up with D (and eat popcorn nonstop to try and curb the sickness) and just be entertained for a couple hours.  I definitely recommend the movie . . . Robert Downy Jr. rocks!!

2011 has been AMAZING!  This dating goal has been incredible for me & D and our relationship . . . I hope the other couples feel that way too.  It was always well planned or super fancy or anything, but making sure to take time out for each other . . . and making it a habit . . . really strengthened our relationship.  We have more great memories of dates and laughs and just good times together this year than we have had in a long time!!  I have to thank J& D for their inspiration and including us in this dating group!  For us the timing has been perfect too - a year of incredible dating leading into a big year filled with change for us.  Nothing helps dealing with change better than the stronger, more deeper relationship that we have built this year.  Being pregnant and having a baby are LIFE CHANGERS, but we are ready to handle anything!  :)  I wish I could say 2012 would be just as good or better than 2011 for dating . . . but that's just not realistic.  Between the sickness & exhaustion of pregnancy and then the newborn in July . . . things will be more low key.  But we are SO PROUD of what we have done this year and will keep the spirit alive in a more low key way in 2012.  But watch out 2013 . . . we will be back!  :)  I will keep posting dates - especially the good ones - as they happen - but maybe not keep such great tabs on numbers & such - we shall see.

Epitome of Romance

D&T
Date #45

I realize I may be stretching it just a bit . . . but I get to define what a date is right???  Our Thanksgiving Date was Thanksgiving morning at the Oborn family Turkey bowl!  At the family reunion in St. George for the long weekend I had written off a date for the week.  But the grandparents all offered to watch the littles while we played football in the morning.  I have not played in a Turkey Bowl since I had kids - so I was thrilled.  I am not great at football, but D&I love to play sports together and running around for a couple hours in the gorgeous St. George weather with him and our cousins that we love was plenty date like to me.  D & I were on opposite teams - and my team kicked trash.  :)  Just couldn't forget to document that.

WallyBall BonAmie

D&T
Date #44

We got a last minute invite to go join a group of friends for Wallyball and we JUMPED on that!  (thanks to the in-laws for being so available to babysit!).  We had a BLAST with 3 other couples we had really never hung out with before . . . but we love making new friends.  Had dinner at Cafe Paesan after (the italian version of Cafe Rio) and we really like eating there!   I am failing in the picture taking category, but its the date that counts.  :)

Costco Trip

D&T
Date #43

Admittedly, without my in laws being so incredible, I am not sure there is anyway we would be doing so great on our date night goal.  This mini date was very unplanned.  D&I (and the kids) went over to help them with a TV thing (just D was helping really) and we were supposed to be done quick cause the plan was family dinner at Costco before it closed.  Well the "quick fix" was taking much longer than planned - so my in-laws offered to keep the kiddos while D&I had some alone time at Costco and then meet at Shakeys pizza for dinner (then back to thier house to finish the fixing).   I LOVED that plan.  Although SHORT, any alone time with Dane is SWEET (not to mention Costco without the kids - SCORE).  And although it was a whole family dinner - have to put in a plug for Shakeys Pizza (by the AF Walmart - right next to the Petsmart).  Its really well priced and not at all bad for a pizza buffet.  There is a salad bar and the pizza was actually pretty delicious (probably the deep dish).  They also have pasta and yummy potato bites and stuff the kids LOVED.

Trying New Thai

D&T
Date #42

We had a restaurant.com certificate to a Thai place in Sandy and decided to use it.  Dropped the kids off at D's sisters on the way up there.  Although - I forgot the gift certificate, so we had to turn around - and it took us over an hour to get to Bluffdale cause traffic was so bad.  Not a great start to our date . . .  but D was SUPER patient and once we were at the restaurant it was all okay.  We were starving and really enjoyed the food - as always - but tis not our favorite Thai place for sure.  Always fun to try something new!

Costume Party

M&R
Date #32
Costume Party

Hey! It's true. We are still alive and it seems as though we have completely and utterly failed our goal of one date night a week for a year. [head hung in shame]

I've learned a couple of things. It turns out that having a husband who works 60+ very inconsistent hours each week is not very conducive to planning date nights. You know what else, we are learning that without grandparents around, ya just gotta bite the bullet and pay for a babysitter. Otherwise friends and neighbors are going to grow weary of babysitting trades and favors. I don't want to be that friend that people avoid because they are afraid of what is going to be asked of them. As cheapskate as this might make me sound, it's hard to cough up babysitting money on top of any costs for a date, but, I think it's just time. It definitely is more convenient having the babysitter come to you though.

Anyway!! This dating thing has turned out to be more challenging than I thought. But, we will never ever give up! So here I am, with what should be Date #43, but instead it's Date #32.

We received an invitation to a Halloween costume party. We were supposed to go as characters from a book called Fablehaven, which I know nothing about. So I Wikipedia'd it (didn't you know that's a verb?) and found some characters to imitate. Hubby and I aren't crazy about costumes, but we threw something together. I made some cat ears and a tail (for $1.71 thank you very much!) and went as a black cat. Hubby was "the Grey Assassin".

The party was so so fun!! We only knew the hosts, but they know how to choose a good crowd, because we didn't feel awkward the whole time. The company was fantastic, and hilarious, and they had plenty of games and food to keep us busy and entertained the entire time.

There was a best costume competition and we obviously didn't come close. Maybe next year!

Down Time

B+C
Date #24

Dinner and Internet at home

J offered to babysit for us and we happily accepted! Thank you, J!!

Since we hadn't really thought about it ahead of time we just stayed home. I'm a little embarrassed by how many of our dates have taken place at home. I have a great time, anyway. I AM a home body. I just feel kind of lame doing the same thing each week. Please don't judge. At least we're trying! : )

aaaaaaanyway,

I had already planned for dinner at home, so I went ahead and made dinner for us and then we watched funny things on the internet and looked at art online.

B and I both have a need for a creative outlet, so we enjoy doing artsy things together.
We watched bad lip readings and died laughing, and then we checked out the cool hunter and dreamed about the day when we have a house to fill up with art. We loved the Cate Parr watercolors, Theo Altenberg's AH-mazing oil paintings, and the Francoise Neilly paintings. I guess we like a lot of color. There's some WAY cool stuff on this site (hence the title i guess). We could've spent hours looking. It's so amazing what people can think up and bring to life, and I absolutely LOVE that my hub and I share a passion for it.

SOFTBALL!

D&T
Date #41

D and I got invited to play in some tournament softball games.  We LOVE playing softball together but have hardly been able to play together since the kids came along (we switch off playing seasons so the other one can watch the kiddos - although D is nice and usually I get to play cause teams always need girls and softball is MY sport and he can do just about anything).   We were so excited to play together.  My In-laws were the babysitter and they decided to bring the kids to watch - and we loved the family cheerleaders.  Even though it ended up a family night activity, we still counted it as a date cause we just got to be together doing something we loved with no parental responsibility for an hour!

Temple Night

D&T
Date # 40

This weeks date was Ward Temple Night!  We had lots of stuff come up that almost got in the way - but we were determined!  It was a great, calming date.  Although we don't actually spend much time TOGETHER :), it was fun to get dressed up for each other.

Wedding Dinner Dating

D & T
Date # 39

D's cousin is getting married this week so we were able to attend the wedding dinner up at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.  Food was GREAT - the company was AWESOME - and the mood was so romantic in celebration of the upcoming wedding.  We LOVED it!  It ended up being WAY longer than planned so BIG thanks to our great friends and babysitters . . .

I am having serious issues with uploading pictures from phones to just about anywhere - but here is the best I could do for now.

J+D
Dates 35, 36, & 37

I'm going to count our little weekend adventures as three dates since we had a little patch during the summer when we couldn't get out together.
I hope that's okay...

Our trip was a busy trip, to say the least--but so super fun!

Thursday evening we flew to LA where my brother picked us up and took us to his lovely family (and abode). After staying up a bit too late laughing, munching, and playing with Ike and Toe, we hit the sac (aka air mattress) and planned to get up around 5:30 to hit the road in the BUG---the car we were to bring home to Utah for mi madre.

Friday morning, as planned, we were on the road super early to drive up north to San Francisco.

We got there around lunch time, so we had some of the Wharf's famous Clam Chowder in sour dough bread bowls as we walked around the pier....

SanFran 037a

...before hopping on a ferry and taking a site seeing cruise around the bay (this is Alcatraz and my hot hubby)
alcatraz-1

And this is the Golden Gate Bridge--you can see my tour headphones
(we got to see some dolphins, too!!!)

SanFran 488aand

then we watched some hilarious street performers and visited the sea lions

SanFran 054a

And then we ate some ice cream and chocolate at Guiradelli Square before taking a trolley

SanFran 059a

up to China Town

SanFran 056a

before we drove down Lumbard Street.........
And by that time we were thinking we'd better get to our hotel so that we could get the kids down.....

But wait, we didn't have any kids with us....
So we drove over the Golden Gate Bridge into Sausalito and had a fabulous dinner together.
And then we were pooped so we (I) zonked on the bed only to wake up at 3 am and find that I hadn't changed into my jammies. We were just that tired.

But we slept in and headed up to the Muir Woods in Marin County and
spent the morning hiking in the gorgeous Redwoods
Muir1

SanFran 497a

SanFran 495abw

and when we were finished there, we drove into Sausalito and walked all around the docks looking, admiring over, and wishing we had a sailboat of our own until it was time to go meet up with....

SanFran 092a

....some of our dear friends who have recently moved to the Bay Area, The Corotans!
We had a lovely lunch/dinner with them, had a quick photoshoot, and then off we went....

SanFran 482a

...back in the car on another road trip up to Reno where we had a super late meal and a very fast snooze before we got up early again to drive back home to Utah.

Phewwwwwwwwww.
It was incredibly FAST and incredibly FUN
(Dustin and I are great road trippers together...we love the same music, we laugh a ton, have a ton to talk about, can joke around and be dorks in the privacy of our own little space, and just have a great time driving)

And not too surprisingly, we missed our kiddos a TON.
We were so glad we went, so glad we have a great relationship to make it a fabulous weekend without any blips, and a whole gaggle of family members to take great care of our babies at home while we were away!!!

Yay for love!
Yay for a lovely trip!

Park City

B+C
Date #23

Dinner in Park City

B's parents came into town a few weeks ago and watched the kids while we went out to eat. They stay in Park City when they come, so we literally went down the elevator from their hotel room to get dinner.

Neither of us knew what we were in the mood for, so we picked the first thing we saw. . . .MEXICAN!!

The food? So-so.
The company? Divine!!

I LOVE my man and I LOVE hanging out, just the two of us. It's been great to have our little date nights, even though most of OURS have turned out being home dates. Just nice to have our time together.

Blind Dating

D&T
Date # 38

So this weeks date was a set up for a two people a friend and I have been trying to set up for 2 years.  Timing finally worked out (they live it totally different states) so we had a late night game night and ice cream at a friends house (we were setting up her brother with my cousin).  No sparks flew for the blind daters and I was so tired I could hardly keep my eyes open.  D & I got last and second to last place in the game of QUIRKLE.  But that ice cream was DELISH and that set up is off the list - and so is the date for the week!  :)  Oh - and I did not break out the camera cause I did not want to cause any futher awkwardness to the already sort of awkward date.

YEE- HAW

D&T
Date #37

It was time for a movie night . . . we had a few options, but we were both tired and in the mood for some entertainment that did not require any effort on our part.  Sort of pathetic, but very true. :)  We went to our favorite cheap theatre and saw COWBOYS and ALIENS.  Interesting flick.  I liked it - entertaining enough.  D LOVED it - very much a manly movie.

Dinner & Diapers & A Movie

J+D
Date #33

By the books, this wasn't a very unique or exciting date night.

We dropped the kids off
We went out to dinner at Chilis (a usual place for us) to use up a gift card we had
Then we stopped by target to get the last pack of diapers I'll ever have to buy for Garrett (hopefully)

Then we picked up the kids and visited with some of our favorite friends

Then we went home, put the kids down, and popped in a movie & snuggled.
But what was exciting is that we got to talk about a lot of things
IN FULL SENTENCES
WITH FULL ATTENTION on each other
and on our FOOD

That's always a unique and exciting thing with kiddos...

Love Lazy Dating!!

D&T
Date #36

We did a impromptu home date this week.  Kids were in bed and D and I were both craving some ice cream.  D ran to the store and we had a red box so we settled on ice cream and a movie and cuddling on the couch.  Things have been crazy busy so this lazy date night at home in jammies was just what we needed!!  Movie was SOURCE CODE.  Pretty good.  Fast paced and entertaining.

Oh Baby.

D&T
Date #35

Date night this week was similar to one of the first dates of the year.  Back in Feb, D and I went to visit our new nephew in the hospital.  This week, we left the kids with the in-laws to visit some great friends and thier new baby boy.  We stopped at the Purple Turtle along the way to pick up milk shakes for us and the new parents (well new to having 2 kids anyway).  I LOVED seeing the beautiful baby!  I LOVE BABIES!  :) Of course it reminded D & I of the times we have been in the hospital with our new babies, and how I am getting that feeling I would like to maybe do that again.  (NOT an announcement, just a thought).

P.S. - It seems CRAZY that it is already fall - with so many wonderful dates to look back on!!

Not E---But Outback.

J + D
Date #32
For D's birthday dinner, we had planned on eating at the E Cafe (a place I had bought another Groupon for--a place that, if you look at the site, looks super yummy) but when we got there, it was closed for Labor Day weekend still. Laughing.

So, instead we went next door to Outback Steakhouse and shared a meal. In our nearly 7 years of marriage (9 years of being a couple, 22 years of knowing each other), we have learned that we do best when we share a meal. We like the same foods, neither of us are huge eaters, and if we are still hungry afterward, we can easily top it off with dessert. So that's what we did tonight!

We had so much fun! We didn't mention the kiddos once (we love to talk about the kids but try to keep them out of our alone time), we laughed non stop, and by the end of the evening, we thought we were a young dating couple again. It was a blast!

"Just" going out to dinner is sometimes "just" what we need.
Happy Birthday, D!
Love you!

Building Bunk Beds

D&T
Date 34

We were doing some organization this last week so for date night we sent the kids away so we could have some uninterrupted time building the girls' new bunk beds.  In my mind, I thought we would work together and laugh and feel so accomplished in a couple hours and go pick up the kids.  ha.  After the two hours - here is what we had done:

Between the prep work (cleaning up and getting out and sorting all the boards) and the frustrating use of the allen wrench - we not exactly laughing and having a great time.  It took about 25 min. to put one of those end boards together.  Then D got smart and borrowed a drill, ground down the wrench and suddenly the world of building changed.  We put the second end board together in 5 min.  The it was time to get the kids.  :)  But we put them to bed and finished the job together.  Its fun to do projects with the hubby, although as far as date nights go - for us anyway - its a once in a while thing. :)

We love the finished product and love the reminder of our time spent together building it!!

CLIMB ME A WALL

J + D Date #31
B +C Date #22

Since both of us had Groupon Coupons to The Quarry that were expiring at the end of the month, we got together and made a date out of it.

We always love hanging out with B + C, so having them with us while we used up our Groupon was like icing on the cake! We all cheered each other as we tried to conquer each wall---and then laughed about how quickly our forearms fatigued.

Climbing is certainly something we should do more of...not because we need to get into better climbing shape, but because its so dang fun!

Anyway, it was a fabulous outting followed by a delightful dinner at Zupas!

Thanks again for making it so fun, B + C!

Lets do it again soon!

Wings and Wandering

D&T
Date #33

Loved this week's date night.  Got a GROUPON for the Wingshack - D's favorite food maybe.  Then since he was so spoiled with food, he wandered from store to store with me just looking at things for the girls back to school and birthday lists.  We did not even buy anything, but we had a great time!!

Concert Under the Stars

M&R
Date #31
Concert Under the Stars
Monday was our anniversary. 8 years! We went to Olive Garden, but that night we took our kids. Not very relaxing, or romantic. Hubby bought us tickets to go to a concert to see Brian McKnight though. I liked his music a lot when I was in high school, but haven't listened to him in years. R&B isn't really my top choice in music and I don't enjoy it as much I used to, BUT this concert was really good! I was pleasantly pleased.

So anyway, we got babysitters Saturday night, and enjoyed a lovely four hour date night. We stopped at Zupa's for some take-out. Then headed over to the concert.

There is no denying that Brian McKnight has a voice as smooth as butter. He really is an amazing talent. Not only does he sing (very well), but he writes his own music and plays nine instruments.

It was really refreshing to hang out with my hubby listening to romantic music, under the stars on a perfect summer night. We watched the clouds in the distance light up every few minutes during the concert. By the very last song, the storm had reached us and we watched a huge lightning storm on the drive home.

It was such a good night.

TV SHOW & TELL

J+D
Date #30

Trying to catch up......
July was a nutso month but we're back into making sure we're focused on each other.

This date, after we put the kids down, we turned off our phones and I pulled out my clippers.
I usually cut D's hair while the kids are up, but we made it part of our date tonight. :)

Then, after D was all cleaned up, we snuggled up to each other and played TV SHOW & TELL. I chose my favorite show to watch and he chose his and, even though they were TEVOed, we took turns flipping back and forth between the two each commercial break.

While we fastforwarded through the commercials, we snacked on jelly beans and sour candies and giggled about how silly each of our shows were.

We love to snuggle. We love to watch shows together.
We love home dates!

Happy 8 years!!

B+C
Date # 21
HP and Butterbeer, in a fort

Photobucket

We celebrated our 8 year anniversary on Monday!

We've never done anything huge for our anniversaries. Lack of money and grandparents who live nearby, keeps us from doing anything too extravagant. This year we made a fort in our living room, got a babysitter, and made dinner together.

Photobucket

Since we're still reading Harry Potter together, we decided to watch The Goblet of Fire in our fort and make a Harry Potter-ish dinner. We made a meat pie that turned out to be really delicious. We also tried our hand at making BUTTERBEER! Yum! recipe here.

Photobucket

We had a nice, relaxing night together before B and our boys went out of town, the next day. It was nice to have a home date where our kids weren't sleeping in the other room. We had the house all to ourselves. No stress. A great way to celebrate 8 years married to my love. It was perfect.

Some advice from the "experts"

During a moment of wanting to let my brain go numb (which I do by mindlessly going through internet pages) this article caught my eye:

which lead to this article:

I love that within both of these lists resides that advice of having date nights!

Oregon Trip

T & D
Date #32

D and I took a little trip without the kiddos to attend one of D's buddy's wedding.  D was a groomsman in the wedding.  We stayed in a house with nearly the whole wedding party and bride and groom (11 people total) and it was a blast.  Between the wedding dinner, the wedding itself, and then a little exploration of Portland the day we left - I think it was easily a months worth of dates.  We had such an incredible time and played and connected in a way we don't get to do very often!

I love going to weddings - its so romantic and just reminds us of our own wedding - which often seems so long ago (and other times like yesterday).  Not to mention in was one of the most beautiful weddings I could even imagine in one of the most beautiful places.  It was fun to play newlywed and party with our friends without the kids for a few days - but love coming home to our real life, cause nothing is more rewarding than that.

One of our favorite parts was the last day we had a few hours to kill before our plane took off and so we jumped on the light rail at the airport and just went exploring. We totally stumbled upon the weekend market, which was awesome.  After 2 days surrounded by people and having everything planned, having some time just for us to do whatever we felt like was awesome.  We love traveling and playing with friends, but we also learned we need to do more trips just ourselves (and we loved the no plan, just explore feel)  to really bond and sort of re-live the honeymoon feeling.

A Late Night Movie

M&R
Date #30
Late Night Movie

During a crazy weekend, Hubby and I were lucky enough to steal away a few hours to catch a late night movie. We decided to jump on the Thor bandwagon. We loved it. It was much more funny and lighthearted than I thought it would be. Besides the movie, it was nice to just sit next to each other and relax for a couple of hours.

This summer has been so so fun, but I think we are feeling ready to be back in a routine, especially with the kids. Can we really be the nearing the end of August?? And did we really mess up our "one date night a week" track record? Yes! Darn it! I'm afraid so.

We're still trying though. How is everybody else doing? I think we need to have a motivational group date to get us all back on track. :)

Can't wait to see more posts on what everybody has been up to!

Reading

M&R
Date #29
Reading Together

For our date this week, we intended on getting a babysitter, but it just didn't happen. We had too many other errands to run and things to take care of.

We put the kids to bed and pulled out a magazine to read together. We both picked a couple of articles and took turns reading out loud.

I like reading with my hubby. It's a good way to start a discussion about something that maybe wouldn't have come up in our everyday conversation.

Plus, it was just good to be together. Things have been stressful the past week or so. We both needed that quality one-on-one time. Even though we haven't been awesome with date nights lately, I'm glad that it's still something we are being mindful of and trying for.

A night with knights

J+D
Date #29
All of last week was spent in Las Vegas taking care of my neices and nephews with my sister-in-law. There were 8 kids for two mamas and, to be honest, I had a great time. Can't say I'll want to have 8 kids of my own, but at least I know now that I wouldn't die doing it.

Anyway, the original plan was to fly D down the last day of my Nannying and as payment, my sister-in-law who had been gone all week was going to watch our kids for an evening so that D and I could go see a show in Vegas. I mean, who goes to Vegas without seeing a show, right? And "Ka" was what we had planned to see.

But once D flew in, we realized quickly that plan A would need to be changed to plan B, so that's what we did. You gotta do what you gotta do, you know?

So instead, we went to see The King's Tournament with everyone--6 adults and 8 kidlets. The kids loved the horses and knights, we all loved eating the meal with our hands, and most of all, I just loved to be back with my hubby again. Though it wasn't ALONE time and it wasn't plan A, I'm still counting it as a date for us.

Maybe once August is over we'll be able to be more in tune with our alone-dates again. But for now, we're doing all we can to keep up with you guys. :)

A Concert in the Park

B+C
Date #20
Thai Food, Market, Concert, People Watching, Frozen Yogurt

It's never ideal to bring baby along, but in order to stay out as long as we wanted, we thought it would be easier to take her, and she was a good sport at the concert, dancing and giggling the whole time, and getting us a lot of compliments. ; )

This week, I took B to the Twilight Market and Concert, in Salt Lake. Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros were playing! I was so excited about this. (Home is probably their most well-known song, but my favorite is 40 Day Dream, which I put in the video. Scroll down).

We were both starving when we arrived, so we got some [REALLY GOOD] Thai food from one of the vendors.

Then we sat on our blanket and did a whole lot of people-watching, while The Entrance Band played.

There was quite the colorful crowd there. Very entertaining. B's favorite guy was wearing skinny jeans, loafers, and had a mustache. We decided next time we go, we'll dress up. B will grow out his mustache and I'll wear something crazy (edit: crazy, for ME. so probably NOT that crazy).

We DID spend money on food and parking, but the concert was FREE! And, before the main event, there was also a Twilight Market, with jewelry, clothes, and other handmade things.

The best part was when the main band started playing. The excitement level shot up, everyone ran to the front, the music got louder. I love the energy at a good concert.

This was a great date night. We want to go to more of these in the future. Hopefully without baby next time?

Afterwards, we got some frozen yogurt. We both got Thin Mint with graham cracker crumbs and cheesecake bites. Definitely not on my diet but SO worth it. It was so so good!
