Weekend Road Trip

M&R
Date #13
Road Trippin'

Early in the week, Hubby called me and said that we had the opportunity to take a quick, expenses paid, weekend road trip to Seattle to swap company vehicles. We arranged babysitters for our older kids and took the baby with us.

28 hours of driving round trip amounts to a lot of uninterrupted time and conversation together. We did have our baby, but she was awesome in the car and slept a lot. We joked and laughed, listened to (mostly) horrible radio music, ate snacks, we talked about deep life subjects, family and friends, financial goals, parenting, our dream vacations..... The scenery was sometimes boring, sometimes beautiful.

Once we arrived in Washington, #1 on my list of things to do was visit Pike's Place Market. Hubby and I really love hanging out in downtown Seattle. It's just an exciting place to be with all the activity and interesting things to see.
We were with some of our favorite cousins/friends and our hubby's bought us tulips. We browsed and shopped around, looking at the fruit, the street performers, checking out the making of the worlds best cheese.........and a stop at the wall of gum. Seriously people, that is all gum. So gross!! I didn't have any gum to add, and I couldn't bear to bring myself closer than 5 feet. Photobucket This weekend was AWESOME. We loved having so much one-on-one time on our drive together. We loved visiting Seattle and reminiscing about the short time that we lived there a few years ago. Traveling and exploring together is most definitely one of our most favorite things to do together as a couple.

  1. D and I LOVE road trips together. Some people hate the monotonous driving but we think its such a fun time to be together and see the world on a totally different level. I feel the same way about going on a good run...you see things you would never see if you drove. And same with driving...you see things you'd never see if you flew. Your pictures are gorgeous. Can't wait to hear all about it in person...

PS. We'd move to Oregon/Washington in a heartbeat. You guys should come with us! :)
